Kroger Stop Diabetes Night at the Ball Park

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - Kroger, the Cincinnati Reds and the American Diabetes Association have partnered to support the Stop Diabetes® movement by joining forces for the very first Kroger Stop Diabetes® Night at the Ball Park, happening on Tuesday, September 20 at Great American Ball Park as the Cincinnati Reds take on the Houston Astros at 7:10pm.

Cincinnati area Kroger locations are currently selling discount Mezzanine Level ticket vouchers for $15.  Tickets can be purchased at all Kroger store checkout counters.  Additionally, tickets can be purchased by visiting www.reds.com/stopdiabetes or by calling the American Diabetes Association at 513.759.9330.  A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the tickets will go to the American Diabetes Association.

The American Diabetes Association will also host their signature fundraising event, Step Out: Walk to Stop

Spots Still Available for the CBTS Jay Bruce Baseball Camp

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) – There are still spots remaining for Cincinnati Reds Right Fielder Jay Bruce’s second annual baseball camp! The Second Annual CBTS Jay Bruce Baseball Camp presented by Chiquita and Fifth Third Bank in partnership with the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame and Museum is Monday, July 25th and Tuesday, July 26th at Prasco Park from 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. 

Fan favorite Jay Bruce will be on site for the entire two days of camp to direct activities and provide instruction. Jay will be joined by several top prep and collegiate coaches from the greater Cincinnati area. The camp is open to boys and girls ages 6 to 14.

Campers experience various stations, specializing in fundamental skills and the team concept of baseball.

KINGS ISLAND, OH (FOX19)  – Kings Island 2011 season passes go on sale at the park at 4:00pm ET Friday, April 15.  Three different season pass options are available for the 2011 season: Gold, Regular and Platinum.

Gold season pass prices range from $74.99 to $99.99 through May 30.  This pass allows unlimited admission to Kings Island and Boomerang Bay during 2011 public operating days.

Regular season pass prices range from $69.99 to $94.99 through May 30.  This pass allows unlimited admission to Kings Island and Boomerang Bay during 2011 public operating days.

Cedar Fair Platinum season pass prices range from $92 to $165 through May 30.

SHARONVILLE (FOX19) - Bob Huggins has been gone from UC for years now, but he's hardly been gone from Cincinnati.

The latest case in point: Huggins will be the guest speaker at the 5th annual Cincinnati Sports Professionals Network (CSPN) Awards Banquet May 9 at the Sharonville Convention Center.

The event pays tribute to athletes, sports professionals, businesses and events for their accomplishments in 2010.

Tickets, which include dinner and the program, cost $75 per person or $700 for a table of 10. Student tickets are also available for $35. FOR VIP, which includes a private reception with Coach Huggins & all award recipients before the event are $100/person or $900/table of 10.

1,500 Reds Opening Day tickets sell out in 25 minutes

CINCINNATI (FOX19) - All 1,500 tickets for the Reds Opening Day game vs. the Milwaukee Brewers sold out on Saturday in under 30 minutes.

The Reds announced Wednesday, March 9 that 1,500 tickets for Opening Day would go on sale Saturday, March 12, at Fountain Square. The Opening Day tickets included 1,000 View Level and 500 Standing Room Only to the March 31, 2011 season opener.

The tickets were only available on Fountain Square, not at the ballpark ticket windows or on Reds.com.

Dozens of Reds fans camped out on Fountain Square, braving cold temperatures and wind for the tickets. Fans started camping out Thursday morning, and about a dozen tents were set up Thursday night.

Ticket prices were $30 for View Level and $20 for Standing Room Only. There was a limit of six tickets per person.

This is the fourth year in a row that the Reds have offered Opening Day tickets to fans on Fountain Square.
